On The Rocks Trail Run

Race Director's Notes

My definition of a Trail Runner:

Posted by Scott Newcomer on May 22, 2010 at 8:31 PM

It is a road runner that went crazy from pounding the pavement from a boring road race that seemed to never end.  The runner was forced out of boredom to run in the woods realizing the dirt, trees, rocks, deep water crossings, long climbs that never ended, and with crazy fast down hills was what true enjoyment of running was all about.  People must think you are nuts and crazy because you are training and racing in zero degrees Fahrenheit, deep snow, snowstorms, rain storms, and weather conditions just does not matter to you.  You just consider the weather is a challenge which adds a new twist into the standard run. A trail runner never turns down a hill climb and just run hills for the hell of it.    You believe a trail running is always better than work.

I was never much of a road runner. But I agree with the rest.

Trail Running though the woods add nature beauty to your images. Why not enjoy the scenery while you are at it? Enjoy the nature beauty !!!
